Senior software engineer
Vesta is building the operating system for upgrading buildings.
Our platform lets solar installers and clean-energy professionals design and sell solutions in minutes—using software, AI and real-time 3-D modeling.
In just 18 months (bootstrapped, no outside capital) we have:
- Grown revenue from €0 to ~€1 M ARR
- Enabled 400 + contractors to design and sell 50 k + solar systems, heat-pumps, and storage systems
- Built a solution that cuts solar design and quoting time from hours to minutes.
And we're only getting started. Over the next decade, our ambition is to slash the time it takes to electrify a building—from months to days—so the world can install clean technologies 10x faster.
About the job
You'll work directly with our CTO to:
- Architect and ship core product features—the ones customers can't live without
- Shape engineering culture from the ground up
- Make high-impact technical decisions that will touch millions of homes
- Solve complex problem with simple solutions.
About you
You are the kind of engineer who :
- Ships weekly, not quarterly
- Thinks in systems and outcomes, not just code and features
- You solve thorny, real-world problems with simple, elegant code
- You move fast, own your work, and change course when reality proves you wrong.
- Has strong opinions about code quality, loosely held
To give you a clear idea of what the job could entail, here are some real examples of the work we've done lately:
- Built a fully customizable proposal builder that sells any electrical system by translating specs into customer-friendly benefits.
- Trained and shipped in production an AI model that generates an editable 3-D roof from a single street address
- Shipped a public API upgrade so users can plug Vesta straight into their ERP/CRM
- Chasing a bug on our Enedis integration—root-caused and resolved in a day.
We're looking for candidates with a strong track record of bringing great software products to life.
This is a remote-first job where you can live wherever you want in Europe at less that 3 hours travel from Paris. You will be expected to come to our Paris office 2-3 days per month.
Since the bulk of our work is written – from the code and interfaces we design, to the pull request discussions and long-form proposals we make – being a good writer is important. Effective, concise writing leads to effective, concise code.
Pay and benefits
- Vesta pays in the top 10% of the industry based on Paris rates. Same position, same pay, no matter where you live.
- The usual essentials (office budget, Alan, etc..)—and we'll add more as we grow
Our tech stack
While we believe great engineers can master any stack, we're currently working with:
- JavaScript (React, Next.js) and Python for our core platform
- WebGL for 3D
- LLMs
- Tensorflow for our 3D AI models.
- Cloud-native architecture
Why join us?
- Make an impact: we are trying to solve one of the hardest and most urgent problem of our times

- Solve hard problems daily: we value creativity, resourcefulness and determination that hard can be solved with the right approach.
- Ownership: equity in a fast-growing company
The interview process
After an initial conversation with our CEO Benjamin, and a short interview with Romain, our CTO, we will ask you to come for a work trial as the final step in the interview process. A work trial is a paid 2-5 day period where you will work with us on a real project that we plan to implement. We will pay you a daily rate during the work trial, and communicate that in advance.
